
Creative artists in Northern Uganda have been urged to register their work for protection from piracy ad theft.
The call was made recently by Stella Ogwal, the Senior Registration Officer of the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) during a one day training for film makers in Northern Uganda.
Ogwal notes that people in creative sector like film makers, musicians, and authors among others should register their works and get the copy rights to enable them make money from their creativity.
She urges creatives to utilize the URSB Regional offices in Gulu for registration.
Ojok Odong, the President of Northern Uganda Film Association praises URSB for the sensitization adding that this will help them to register their works and have it recognized nationally and internationally.
Ojok adds that film makers in Northern Uganda are preparing for the 2nd edition of the Northern Uganda Film Awards scheduled for May this year in Gulu City.
