The newly sworn in Local Council I and II Chairpersons in Unyama Sub County have been urged to identify community needs in their area and forward them to responsible offices.
The eight local council I and two LCII chairpersons were sworn into office on Thursday during a ceremony held at the sub county headquarters.
Justine Kidega, the L.CIII Chairperson Unyama Sub county told the local leaders that they have a duty to ensure that government functions well at village level.
He cites community needs and issues such as water, access roads, environment and disaster among others.
Kidega reminded the leaders said that identifying community needs and planning starts at village level.
He also says the local leaders should be at the forefront of solving community issues such as clearing access roads and bushes around water points.
