TikToker urged to Issue Disclaimer on Viral Video to Avoid Arrest

Peter Banya, the Deputy Resident City Commissioner for Laroo-Pece Division has urged Dayo Adaa, a TikToker to issue a public disclaimer about a viral video in which her daughter is seen washing clothes in the rain warning that she could face arrest over human rights concerns.

Yesterday, Emmanuel Alaroker, the woman behind the account, was summoned to the office of the Resident City Commissioner regarding the video.

Banya says the video raised significant public concern because it appeared to depict a form of torture, prompting many questions from viewers.

He urges content creators to be mindful of the videos they post, especially in the Acholi sub-region, which has been affected by war.

Alaroker, who runs the Dayo Adaa account, says the video was staged and that the child is her biological daughter, whom she loves dearly.

She has apologized to fans who were upset, explaining that the video was meant to show how children suffer when parents have died.

Otim Wilfred, the LC1 chairperson of Awere Cell in Holy Rosary, says he was asked to bring the woman to the Resident City Commissioner’s office because she hails from his area.

He urges Alaroker to treat the incident as a lesson and to avoid posting videos that could cause problems or lead to her arrest by police.

The Dayo Adaa account gained attention for the video, which showed a child washing clothes in the rain while the mother uses harsh language.
