
Police in Oyam district is investigating the mob murder of a 20-year old man identified as Moses Ogoga, a resident of Olwarut village in Myene Sub-County.
Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga Police Spokesperson confirms the report saying the incident happened at 4:00am yesterday at Acimi B village, Myene Sub county.
Okema said in a statement that its alleged that the deceased who was accused of being a habitual thief, broke into Michael Atoo’s kitchen house at Acimi “B” village and stole two chicken.
Atoo reportedly chased after Ogoga with an axe and apprehended him before assaulting him and later made an alarm which attracted other neighbours, Amos Opio, Alfred Emor, one only identified as Ocen and others who joined him in assaulting Ogoga to death.
Okema says that police in Myene Sub-County police station have registered a case of murder and that the body was conveyed to Anyeke Health Center IV mortuary pending a postmortem.
