Over 200 Gulu Youths to Benefit from Digital Skills Training and Soft Loans

Over 200 Youths who are in small scale businesses in Gulu City are set to receive Digital business skill and soft loans.

According to Ms. Claire Gatete, the Program Manager at Federation of small and Medium Enterprise, the beneficiaries Youths will be between the age of 18-35 years. 

She notes that the Project that is supported by United Nations Capital Development Fund(UNCDF) and its partners will train Youths in digital business skills and help them to access soft loans without collateral.

Ms. Gatete urges the Youths to take advantage of the Program and access soft loans Digital skills to enhance their businesses. 

Mr. Denis Okongo, who represented the Pece-Laroo division Town Clerk during the launch of the Project said that digitization of businesses will help in growth and mindset Change.

Okongo reveals that as the division Council, they are already using Digital systems to collect local revenue for the Council. 

Uganda has one of the world’s youngest populations, with 78% under 30, fostering a vibrant, yet largely informal, youth entrepreneurship sector.
