Patrick Komakech, the LC III Chairperson for Patiko Sub County says the slow pace of construction at Patiko Seed Secondary School is affecting youth activities at the Sub County.
Komakech explains that students of the school are currently occupying a youth center which was built by Care International to promote youth activities such as mentoring and recreation among others.
The chairperson says construction of infrastructure which should have been completed in six months has dragged for far too long and accordingly asked for expeditious work.
The construction funded by the World Bank at 2.3 billion shillings which started in August last year includes two fully equipped science laboratories, an ICT laboratory, a modern school library and six classrooms.
Others are a main hall, a football pitch, three staff houses, staff quarters with a latrine block and bathrooms, a staff room and store, offices for the Head teacher, Bursar, and Deputy Head teacher, two kitchens, five-stance latrines for both boys and girls and a dedicated power transformer.
The construction work is currently at 70% complete, according to reports.
