The 6th intake entrance for the presidential industrial hubs has reportedly been postponed due to national events in the month of May.
Oyet Samuel Agwani, the assistant manager at the Acholi zonal presidential industrial hub says the reporting date for the 6th intake was slated for 30th April 2026 but has been postponed to the last week of May on a date that is yet to be communicated by the state house controller.
According to Agwani, the national events like Labor Day and the swearing in of Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the president of the Republic of Uganda, all happening in May forced the postponement of the entry of 6th intake because it is the state house that funds the industrial hub.
Agwani has asked those that were to join the intake to be patient as they wait for a fresh communication from state house.
Presidential Industrial Hubs are zonal vocational training centers in Uganda initiated by President Yoweri Museveni to provide free, practical skills training to disadvantaged youth (aged 18–35) to curb unemployment and boost local production.
Nineteen hubs operate nationwide, offering courses in welding, tailoring, carpentry, and baking to transform trainees into self-reliant, productive citizens.
