
Richard Irwenyo, the Gulu City Education Officer says government primary schools in the City have no excuse for failing to implement the Ebola standard operating procures. (SOPs)
Irwenyo says the schools which recently received capitation grants from government should invest in hand washing facilities, sanitizers and detergents.
He says it is unfortunate that some schools are not taking the government directives seriously.
Schools have been directed to implement daily temperature checks using working temperature guns at entry points.
They have also been directed to deny visibly ill individuals into their premises, install have handwashing facilities and also use sanitizers.
Uganda has recorded a total of 15 confirmed Ebola cases including one death as of yesterday according to the Ministry of Health.
12 of the patients are admitted while two have since been discharged.
