Health Workers Urged to Embrace Continuous Training to Improve Patient Care

The President of National Drug shop advocacy Initiative has urged health workers in Gulu City and Gulu district to continue receiving professional trainings in order to stay updated about the various forms of diseases and ways of handling them.

Denis Ssenyondo was speaking during a sensitization meeting for various health workers in Gulu City and district.

Ssenyondo says health workers, including, Nurses and clinical officers among others who are in private practice should continue attending continuous training in order to know the changing trends of treatment and diseases.

He adds that starting next month, professional bodies that manage health workers will not renew practicing licenses for health workers who are not attending continuous medical training.

He also cautions health workers against impersonators who extort money while posing as Drug Shop Inspectors because professional Inspectors do not ask for money while conducting inspections.

Abalone Sharon Brenda, an enrolled Nurse who attended the training says she learnt about the new ways of handling family planning and handling other emergencies.
