Samuel Jones Laguu, the Lamwo District Deputy Chief Administrative Officer has urged newly elected sub-county leaders to prioritize the titling of government land in order to unlock funding for administrative infrastructure development.
He was speaking during the swearing-in ceremonies of new leaders across the district.
Laguu says several newly created sub-counties continue to operate without permanent administration blocks because land designated for government facilities lacks legal ownership documents.
He notes that the government cannot invest public funds in permanent structures where land ownership has not been formally secured, describing land titling as a critical foundation for future development projects.
Ocen Edward, the Katum Sub-county LC III Chairperson says inadequate office space remains a major challenge affecting service delivery.
He pledges to work with district authorities and communities in order to fast-track the documentation of government land.
Doris Abalo, the Lamwo District Speaker also calls on local governments to treat land titling as a development priority in order to improve service delivery and strengthen governance structures.
