Amuru RDC Warns Officials Over Alleged Abuse of Cattle Restocking Funds

Osborn Geoffrey Oceng, the Amuru Resident district Commissioner has cautioned a number of sub-counties Chiefs and Parish Chiefs after it emerged that some of them allegedly wrote names of their relatives and households to benefit from the Cattle Re-stocking funds.

The beneficiaries of cattle re-stocking in Northern Uganda are receiving 5 million shillings each from the Office of the Prime Minister

Oceng particularly says the Sub-county Chief of Opara sub-county allegedly did not follow the guideline of registering beneficiaries for the Cattle res-stocking and that he will cause an investigation into the case so that they are apprehended by the law

Oceng notes that these sub-county chiefs and Parish Chiefs registered a number of people from the same house hold yet, the Cattle Compensation is meant for a Single person per household

He also urges the beneficiaries to use the Money for the intended purpose and not something else because all beneficiaries will be followed to see how they use the Money

He adds that they will change all the Parish Committees and sub-county Chiefs  who messed up the Cattle re-stocking funds guideline in the next financial year

Amuru has a total of 638 people beneficiaries in this first phase of Cattle restocking program.
