Amuru District Begins Distribution of Hand Hoes to Farmers

Amuru district Local government has started the distribution of hand hoes to farmers in different sub-counties in the district.

The district Chairman, Hon. Christopher Odongkara reveals that they flagged-off the distribution of a total of 57,310 hand hoes yesterday starting with Lakang and Layima sub-counties respectively.

He adds that all the 13 sub-counties and Town Councils in the district have received the Hand hoes.

Odongkara adds that it’s the responsibilities of the sub-county Chiefs and the local leaders in the Parishes to make sure that the hoes are distributed to the farmers.

He urges the farmers to make sure that they make good use of the hand hoes and plough their land for the second planting season.

He also reveals that the district engineering department has opened most of the roads that are connecting various sub-counties to allow Farmers send their products to the market.

The Hand hoes were given by the Ministry of Agricultutre, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries.
