Pearl Bank Manager Urges Nwoya Farmers to Embrace Loan Schemes

Ben Okot Ogwal, the Manager Pearl Bank Anaka Town council in Nwoya district has urged farmers to take advantage of the financial institutions loan schemes to grow their enterprises.

Ogwal says that the bank is currently offering interest free agricultural financing to large scale farmers operating on a minimum of 50 acres.

He explains that the farmers should be focused on crops like maize, beans, soya beans, sorghum, and pasture.

Ogwal who was speaking recently during the handover of three tractors to NUTOFA Sacco by the Microfinance support center says farmers can access up to 5 billion shillings.

He says the bank also gives an agricultural credit facility scheme subsidized by the Bank of Uganda.

Ogwal says farmers dealing in crops and livestock can access the agricultural facility loan scheme at 12 % per year.
