
33-year-old Alum Susan has survived being lynching on allegations of being a witch from Acedeatidi village, Awei Sub County in Alebtong district.
Jimmy Patrick Okema, the police spokesperson for North Kyoga region says the community wanted to lynch Alum on suspicion of being a witch but luckily enough, she was timely rescued by police.
Okema says in an attempt to disperse the crowd, bullets were fired in the air which led to injuring the upper leg of Akullu Teddy.
Okema reports that Akullu was rushed to Awei health center III and later transferred to Alebtong health center IV for treatment.
According to Okema, 22-year-old Adekere Vincent was arrested as a suspect in this case to support with investigations and help identify the people who wanted to conduct the lynching.
