Gulu Referral Hospital Clinicians Trained to Identify NCDs

Dr. Lydia Nakiyingi, the president of the Association of Physicians of Uganda says they have empowered clinicians at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital to identify non communicable conditions.

The association which held a medical camp over the weekend, attended to over 1,000 patients from across the sub region.

Dr. Nakiyingi says that the clinicians who worked alongside over 30 physicians had a chance to see how conditions are identified and managed.

The two-day camp that ended on Saturday mainly targeted patients with heart, lung, dermatological and kidney conditions.

The medical camp was timely as Gulu Regional Referral Hospital currently has only two physicians.

every month, the facility attends to over 1,000 patients from across Acholi Sub region.
