Kawempe Muslim Ladies wrote history after claiming the solitary CECAFA Zone ticket for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
They defeated Kenya Police Bullets 1-0 yesterday in the Zonal Qualifiers final to emerge Champions and thus qualify for the final tournament.
Agnes Nabukenya scored the lone goal of the final in extra time to guide Kawempe to a historic victory.
Kawempe Muslim Ladies become the first Ugandan side to win the regional championship and thus also become the first Ugandan team to qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League final tournament.
Kawempe Muslim have been perfect throughout the tournament, winning all their games (4 games, 4 wins) and scoring 13 goals, conceding none.
