Gulu City Orders Transfer of All 17 Bardege Health Centre III Staff

All 17 staff at Bardege Health Center III in Gulu city are set to be transferred following a directive from the City Town Clerk, Innocent Ahimbisibwe after high levels of absenteeism.

The town clerk directed for the transfer of the staff after carrying out an impromptu visit at the health facility this morning and found only five had registered attendance but only one was actively working while the others were nowhere to be seen.

Mildred Auma, the City Senior Communications Officer says that the town clerk inspected the facility at 8:45am following numerous complaints of staff absenteeism from members of the community.

Ahimbisibwe says the staff who have adequate accommodation at the facility have no reason to be absent from duty.

Dr. Daniel Okello, the Gulu City Health Officer says he had previously engaged the facility staff to improve their conduct and ensure that patients receive services when they need them.
