The Police in Gulu City are holding Denis Apire Brian in connection to alleged case of Murder by stabbing of a police officer Harriet Akera No. 82983 attached to Namukosi Police station in Mityana District.
The Incident happened yesterday at around 2:30 pm at Library cell, Bardege Layibi Division, Gulu City.
David Ongom Mudong, the Aswa west Police Spokesperson Confirms this report.
Brief facts indicate that; the Deceased was a girl friend to the suspect since 2023 before she joined the force.
Mudong adds that the two have been in a love relationship until of recent when they developed some misunderstanding yet to be ascertained.
It’s alleged that the deceased travelled from Mityana yesterday to Gulu city to meet the boyfriend (suspect) to discuss about their issues where the two met at Flamingo guest House within Gulu City from where they had a talk and later all seperated.
Consequently, its further alleged that the deceased again called the suspect and they met, that was where a tense quarel escalated prompting the suspect to pull out a knife and stabbed the officer on the back causing serious bleeding.
She was rushed to Victory health center for first aid and later referred to Lacor hospital from where she succumbed to the injury.
The detectives are actively building up the case file, statements have been recorded from relevant sources, exhibits of a sharp knife has been recovered to back up investigations.
Mudong says this is regrettable but urge the bereaved family to stay calm as investigations continues.
Once the file is sanctioned by the Resident state attorney upon submission, the suspect will be produced before court for prosecution.
