Acholi Cultural Leaders Mourn the Death of King Oyo

David Onen Acana II, the Paramount Chief of Acholi together with the 57 Chiefdoms heads of Acholi have expressed profound shock and sadness over the untimely demise of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV of Tooro Kingdom.

Acana describes King Oyo as a promising King who had touched many lives, especially in youth empowerment and HIV/AIDS prevention.

He says he met the fallen Monarch less than two years ago at the Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara.

In a message issued from Ker Kwaro Acholi, the Paramount Chief conveyed his deepest sympathies and condolences to the Tooro Kingdom.

King Oyo ascended the throne on the 12th of September 1995 following his father’s sudden death on the 26th of August 1995.
