Adjumani Police Investigate Attempted Killing Linked to Land Conflict

Police in Adjumani district are investigating the attempted murder of two people during an inter-clan land wrangle in Pakele Sub County.

According to a police report, there was a violent altercation between members of the Panyiri and Parkwanya clans over a disputed piece of land in Amelo Village, Pakele Sub County.

Collins Asea, the North West Nile Region police spokesperson says police who rushed to the scene found 64 year old Issa Rhay Lodo and 45 year old Clara Asienzo, all residents of Manyarala Village, Pakele Town Council critically injured from cuts and dumped in the bush at 8:00am yesterday.

Asea says the injured were rescued and transported to Adjumani General Hospital for medical treatment while three suspects; Mandera Grace, Mazira Kevin, and Arabaku Gloria, all women were arrested.

He explains that the women were attempting to pack their luggage and flee the area when they were arrested and detained at Adjumani Central Police Station.
