Wilson Otto, the L.C V Chairperson Agago says the district has started receiving seeds support ahead of the second planting season.
Last month, the district requested for over 250,000 kilograms of seeds support from the office of the president through the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) includes.
The seeds include 180,000 kgs of maize, 50,000 kilograms of sunflower, 15,000 kgs of soya beans, 5,000 kgs of ground nuts, 2,000 kgs of beans, 1,500 kgs of cow peas and 1,000 kgs of simsim.
Otto, the L.C V Chairperson says that they expect to have received all the seeds by Wednesday next week and immediately start distribution.
Otto says that many farmers in Agago district don’t have planting materials after their crops were affected by the dry spell and invasion of wild animals especially elephants from Kidepo Valley National Game Park.
