Anaka Town Council Launches Digital Communities Hub

A new Digital Communities Hub has been opened in Anaka Town Council in Nwoya district.

The Hub was opened with support from Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) and American Tower Company (ATC).

Speaking at the Opening of the Hub on Wednesday, the Chief Executive Officer of UNOC Ms. Proscovia Nabanja said that the Hub will lead to increase in digital literacy, community connectivities and improvement in students and community learning. 

She adds that the Center will be free of charge for both students and communities adding that this digital community represents an investment in the futures of the work.

Nwoya Woman MP, Hon. Christine Lanyero Awany applauded UNOC and ATC for bringing the Digital Communities Hub in Nwoya district adding that this will help the Community and students so that they are able to gain knowledge and learn digital skills.

She also urges UNOC and ATC to provide employment opportunities for the students that will be trained from this Hub.

Micheal Opwonya, the assistant RDC of Nwoya district urges the beneficiaries of the Center to utilize it for research and study.

Opwonya pledges that the district will Provide security and make sure all the equipments donated are protected from Vandalism.

This is part of the 83 Digital Communities Hub set across the Country according to ATC.

The Hub was also supported by Uganda Communication Commission (UCC) and Nwoya district local government.
