128 exhibitors participated in the first regional buy Uganda build Uganda (BUBU) trade show that began on Friday last week and ended on Sunday at Kaunda Grounds in Gulu City.
Mildred Auma, the Gulu City Communications officer says Gulu city accounted for the largest number of exhibitors with 87 participants, followed by Lira City with 13 participants, Arua with 12 participants, Gulu district had eight participants meanwhile Omoro and Pader each had 2 participants, Mukono, Kampala, Mbale and Kwania were each represented by one exhibitor.
Auma says the exhibition featured a wide variety of businesses showcasing Uganda’s innovation and enterprise by displaying herbal products, food and bakery items, cosmetics, agricultural products and crafts among others.
Kidega George, the Gulu City principal commercial officer says the trade show was conducted peacefully and successfully with no major incidents recorded.
He further commends the exhibitors, development partners, government institutions, private sector players and the public for their contribution towards success of the trade show.
Kidega encourages the traders, manufacturers and entrepreneurs to begin preparing for the next regional BUBU trade show which is expected to be held around the same time next year.
