The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has officially postponed the FUFA Super 8 quarter-final second-leg match between SC Villa and Maroons FC.
The fixture, which was scheduled to take place at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, was called off to allow the Ugandan football community time to mourn the sudden passing of SC Villa captain David Owori.
The postponement follows the tragic death of the 27-year-old defender on Wednesday afternoon at Case Hospital in Kampala.
Owori succumbed to severe injuries sustained during a violent ambush by unknown assailants while returning home from training in Makindye on Tuesday evening.
The news has sent shockwaves throughout Ugandan football, drawing heartfelt tributes from clubs, players, and government officials, alongside calls for swift police investigations into Kampala’s growing security concerns.
