Generation Pastor Network launched

Urban Pastors in the Acholi sub region are set to benefit from a new program called the Generation Pastor Network, which aims at fighting poverty among Ministers of God in urban areas.

The initiative was unveiled during a meeting organized by Abundant Grace Church of Christ, which brought together more than 200 pastors.

Pastor Kenneth Cupu of Abundant Grace Church of Christ says Pastors in rural areas have been organized into groups of 30 to help them become empowered and access financial benefits which will support their growth and Ministry.

He also adds that the program has not come to destroy any existing programs or divide pastors, but rather to bring them together such that they can develop and grow as one body.

Pastor Aliker Martin from Kampala says the program will help unite Pastors, empower them, and turn them into job creators rather than job seekers.

He also urges Pastors to join government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) to help eradicate poverty among the clergy and cultivate a heart for serving God.

Nancy Aloyo, a choir member notes that most Pastors, choir members, and intercessors are struggling financially and need support.

She appeals to those managing the funds to ensure that the money reaches the right beneficiaries such that Pastors, choir members, and intercessors change their lives.

In Uganda, the overarching body responsible for uniting and overseeing born-again Pentecostal pastors and churches is the National Fellowship of Born-Again Pentecostal Churches of Uganda (NFBPC).
