Gulu City Trade order under review

Mildred Auma, the city communications officer says the Gulu City trade order is currently under review.

Auma says after successfully conducting the trade order they are now doing review to see what went wrong, lessons learnt, success, and challenges among others so that they can use the findings to perform better in the second phase.

She says the financial year has just begun meaning they will take about two months to resume the second phase of the trade order.

According to Auma there are people who have been given temporary permits for a period of time as they look for money to build permanent structures.

She says such people won’t be affected but people in this category should plan early such that the second phase finds them in a better position.

Gulu city authority on 16th March this year began enforcement of the removal of illegal trading from the public spaces, following a directive from Ben Kumamanya, the permanent secretary of the ministry of local governments.
