
Gulu Regional Referral hospital has received a mobile tuberculosis (TB) clinic truck worth 1.8 billion shillings from the Ministry of Health.
Nelson Modi, the clinical coordinator for mobile TB clinics at the Ministry of Health says the state of the art mobile clinic truck that has Artificial Intelligence has a capacity to conduct 200 TB tests per day.
He says the mobile clinic truck which is solar powered and can also operate on generator was purchased with funding from the Global fund which will continue to fund its operations.

Dr. Philip Okot, the regional focal person for TB and Leprosy says they register about 800 TB patients every three months.
Dr. Peter Mukobi, the Director Gulu Regional Referral hospital says the mobile clinic will also be used for conducting sensitization about the importance of early testing for TB which is curable.
