
Several Incumbent Councilors have been re-elected during Special Interest Elections in Gulu City.
They include; Akena Lameck Lambert (NRM) who was re-elected as Male Workers Councilor for Gulu City beating two other contestants.
Angeyo Christine Olok (NRM) was also re-elected as Female Workers Councilor for Gulu City.
Akena says this election victory is for every worker in Gulu City.
He adds that his focus in the next term is to protect the rights of workers in Gulu City.
For the position of Youth Councilor, Rubangakene Daniel also known as Boyka was also re-elected while Anyango Vanessa emerged unopposed for the position of Female Youth Councilor for Gulu City after her opponents withdrew on the last day.
Meanwhile, Samuel Oduny of NRM was defeated by Ali Geoffrey who stood on Independent ticket for the position of Older Persons Councilor.
Adong Caroline Rose (NRM) retained her seat for female Councilor disability and Ojok Patrick Angella also retained his seat for Councilor V for disability in Gulu City.
However, Emmanuel Okane, who lost in the Youth Councilor election says the Youth election was marred with voter bribery and an unclear voter register.
The Election was conducted from Gulu Town Primary school in Gulu City.
