Adjumani NRM Party Registrar Goes Missing on Way to Kampala

Police in Adjumani are investigating the alleged disappearance of Amos Chandimale, the district National Resistance Movement (NRM) party registrar, who went missing while traveling to Kampala to submit presidential election results to party headquarters.

According to a police report filed at Adjumani Police Station, Chandimale was last in contact with his family on January 16, 2026, at around 6:00 am, when he called his wife to inform her that he had completed tallying presidential results and was preparing to travel to Kampala.

Since then, his phone has remained switched off, and his whereabouts remain unknown.

Collins Asea, the Police Spokesperson for the North West Nile Region, says that efforts by the victim’s relatives to trace him in Kampala, where he was last seen on Saturday, January 17, 2026, have so far been unsuccessful.

According to Asea, police have already recorded statements from family members and associates, and security alerts have been circulated to relevant agencies.

He also appeals to the public to provide any information related to the incident to the nearest police station.

Robert Dramwi, the coordinator for the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), who was alleged to have travelled with the missing registrar, says he did not travel in the same vehicle with Chandimale Amos.

A case file for the disappearance has been opened at Adjumani Central Police Station under reference CRB 045/2026.
