Kanyagoga Local Council One Chairperson, Florence Atto, has vowed to champion peace in the area as a strategy to reduce crime.
This was during an interview with our reporter at her home for an update on the LC1 elections in Kanyagoga.
Atto says, she is ready to work hand in hand with security operatives to ensure peace prevails in Kanyagoga and crime is reduced.
She adds that if the people of Kanyagoga trusted her with their votes, she will work hard to transform the area into a place everyone admires.
Walter Opiro, a resident of Kanyagoga, however, advises the LC1 leadership to enact local by-laws and strengthen coordination with security to help curb crime in the area.
He also appeals to investors to come and settle in Kanyagoga, noting that developing an idle land would help reduce criminal hideouts.
Peter Banya, the Deputy City Commissioner of Pece-Laroo Division, advises all LC1 chairpersons to work closely with security agencies to ensure that all dark spots in their areas are covered to prevent crime.
He further appeals to the community to promptly report to police and other security agencies in case of any security threats by giving in information that can lead to arrest of suspects.
