Security arrests four suspects in Gulu shootings

Security personnel in Gulu City have arrested four people in connection with the latest shootings.

Security agencies have registered over seven gun-related cases in Gulu City and neighboring Gulu and Omoro districts.

The latest incident occurred in Omoro district where Raymond Okello, a mobile money agent was shot dead during an armed robbery at Koch-Ongako Trading Centre on Wednesday last week.

Peter Banya, the Gulu Resident City Commissioner in charge Laroo-Pece Division says it’s too early to identify the suspects because it may threaten investigations.

Banya says several guns were also recovered during the arrests adding that security is investigating the source of the guns and those behind the incidents.

He however says that there is a gap in information sharing from the community and urges the public to always share vital information on time about suspicious elements in order to prevent such crimes.
