Combined ASTU and UPDF personnel from Aojathogo Detach have recovered three head of cattle following a successful ambush operation in Abim District.
Mt Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson Mike Longole says the cattle were recovered on 13 June 2026 at 12:30am in Aojathogo Village, Kobulin Parish, Nyakwai Sub-County.
He explains that the operation was based on intelligence received from a reliable informant who alerted security personnel by phone about the presence of suspected Karamojong raiders within the area of responsibility.
Longole says, the cattle are currently held at Aojathogo holding ground pending handover to the rightful owner.
He notes that timely information from the community remains critical in preventing raids and ensuring that stolen animals are quickly recovered.
