Northern Uganda Minister Calls on Acholi to Prioritize Coffee Growing

Akello Beatrice Akori, the State Minister for Northern Uganda has urged the Acholi community to embrace coffee growing as their official cash crop that they identify themselves with rather than just jumping from one thing to another.

She was speaking during the government leaders’ prayer breakfast organized by Favor of God ministries last week.

Akori says there is nothing that the Acholi people identify with hence the need to embrace and stick to coffee as a cash crop of their own just like other regions have crops they identify with.

Akori says unless the population of Northern Uganda will not develop unless if they embrace hard work adding that coffee is an investment that the current generation will benefit from and leave it for the next generation.

Akori notes that besides coffee growing, the Acholi people should also take up animal keeping and ensure they do the needful to ensure they have quality animals for sale and meat purposes.

She stresses that in her office as state minister for Northern Uganda she will ensure that all Northern Uganda regions have something unique that they produce and are known for.
