Omoro district local government has identified several roads that are supposed to be maintained and upgraded in this financial year.
Okot Andrew Obibi, the Omoro district Chairman says some of the key roads that will be upgraded and maintained in this financial year include; Bobi to Wii-Lacic Road, 14 kilometers at cost of 169 million shillings.
Works on this road is expected to begin in 2nd quarter around November to December.
Others are 12.5 kilometers Lakwatomer to Koro- Abili road at a cost of 118 million, 7.6 kilometers Lakwaya-Minja road at a cost of 77 million, 25.6 kilometers
Omel-Minja Road at a cost of 202 million shillings, and 10.5 kilometers Minakulu-Akwii road at a cost of 97 million shillings.
Okot adds that these roads will be maintained under the one billion shillings district road fund budget.
He further says that they will also construct bridges and culverts along the different parts of the road.
Okot says the roads are expected to help link farmers and community members to markets, schools, and hospitals among others.
