Awach Central Primary School in Gulu district are today embarking on a 10 days long training ahead of the Acholi Sub Regional Music, Dance and Drama (MDD) competition set to take place in Pader district on August 14th and 15th.
This is after they emerged winner of the Gulu district MDD competition that was concluded at Awach Town Council on Saturday.
Awach Central Primary School scored 1, 099 points to take the top spot after beating 10 other schools.
Hoima Primary school came second with 1,053 points, Panykworo Primary School third with 1, 052 while Aleda primary school trailed with 281 points.
Jackline Akello, the Gulu District Inspector of Schools says Awach central will represent Gulu district at the National MDD festival set to take place from August 23rd to 30th in Iganga. The theme for this year’s MDD competition is ‘safe learning environment for social transformation’
