
Former Patiko Sub-county LCIII Chairperson Hon. Arach Margret Komakech has lost again in the just concluded village women council elections.
Contesting as vice chairperson for Pajaa Village on the NRM ticket, Arach garnered 20 votes against her rival Hon. Lamwaka Sunday who got 65 votes and was declared winner.
Arach, previously served as Patiko LCIII Chair from 2016-2021 as an FDC candidate, also lost the 2021 and 2026 LCIII races to Hon. Komakech Patrick, an Independent.
Speaking to favour fm, Lamwaka Sunday the winner pledges to mobilize women for government programs and unity in Pajaa.
Hon.Komakech Patrick the LCIII Patiko Subcounty says the results show a shift in voter trust citing voter education awareness as a primary factor that propelled the results across Gulu district.
He further calls politicians to prioritise service delivery while holding public office saying the image they leave behind always follows them.
Komakech says the focus should now shift to production to curb the famine across the region as the second rain season has commenced.
On the 13th July the Uganda Electoral commission carried Polls for Election of the five (5) Members of the Village Women
Committee with the NRM taking majority shares across the country.
