Paul Timothy Kilama, the acting Agricultural officer for Gulu district says the second season might even be worse than the first season due to excessive rain.
Kilama says the first season should be declared a dead season because there is nothing good any farmer will reap from it nationwide.
Kilama says the change in weather has caused unmet expectations among farmers adding that even the weather forecast is also no longer accurate like it used to be hence frustrating farmers’ efforts.
He says that Agricultural experts are currently moving around engaging farmers regarding the current situation in order to prepare their minds for receiving good or bad news and never to give up.
Kilama urges farmers to remain calm and focused because the drought affected the whole country.
