The Gulu City health department has revealed plans to outsource maintenance of the public burial grounds located in Te Opok cell, Pageya ward in Laroo-Pece Division.
This follows concerns from local leaders that the burial ground is too bushy due to lack of maintenance.
The cemetery acts as a temporally burial ground for unclaimed bodies that are majorly victims of accidents and mob justice.
Patrick Ogwang, the Gulu City Health Inspector says the burial ground is currently too busy.
He however says that the City is in the process of procuring a service provider to maintain the grounds.
Ogwang says the service provider will be in charge of slashing the area from time to time to ensure that it is clean.
