Gulu City residents will continue suffering due to damaged broken slabs lack of funds in the city.

Most slabs at the road side where pedestrians walk in Gulu City are damaged to an extent that other places only have holes remaining which pose a lot of risks.

Concrete or paving slabs in a city pose severe hazards, ranging from immediate pedestrian injuries and vehicle damage to long-term structural compromise and environmental issues.

Speaking to Favour FM, innocent Ahimbisibwe, the Gulu City Town clerk notes that he is aware of the terribly damaged slabs within the city but insist there are no funds to help fix them for now.

Ahimbisibwe adds that the damaged slabs will not be worked on this financial year but rather they will plan for it in the next financial year which is commencing in July this year.

Ahimbisibwe says that the money that was meant for damaged slabs were all diverted to repair of solar lights because security is paramount hence creating urgency in the matter of solar lights.

Ahimbisibwe advises members of the public to respectfully and carefully walk on the broken slabs, avoid leaving children on their own because they can break their legs and increases more problems.
