Gulu university health unit located at the main campus at Laroo Pece division in Gulu City reportedly treats over 9000 patients in a financial year.
Gulu university health unit is at the standard of a health center 2 which gives an outpatient service run by a nurse; it is intended to serve 5000 people.
According to reports from the public relations officer of Gulu University, James Onono Ojok, they are proud that the university is serving above average that a health center 2 would have served, last financial year they treated and restored the health of over 9000 patients.
Onono says that besides serving daily at the health unit, they also arrange for community outreaches as part of their corporate social responsibilities to the public.
According to Onono, although it can be overwhelming sometimes, they are glad that they are serving humanity.
Gulu university health unit serves students, lecturers and the community members at large.
