Lamwo District authorities are moving to restore the Lamwo Constituency Performing Artistes Emyooga Enterprise after studio equipment worth about 15 million shillings was recovered from Chimengo near Kafu in Nakasongola District.
Robinson Oyo, the Assistant Resident District Commissioner says investigations are underway to establish how the equipment was moved from Padibe Town Council without the knowledge of some enterprise members.
Oyo says the equipment was recovered through coordination between Lamwo authorities and police in Kafu and Chimengo and will be returned to Lamwo for verification.
He says Aaron Oloywat, the former enterprise Chairperson has pledged to explain how the equipment ended up in Chimengo and account for funds whose use members have questioned.
Kadugu Powel Alex, the Lamwo District Commercial Officer and Anywar Dan Fred, the Field Extension Officer are also expected to provide information on the implementation of the Emyooga programme.
Oyo says authorities will review the enterprise’s physical assets and financial records before working to revive the studio for local artistes.
