Mothers advised to make it a priority to complete doses of their children

Migration from one area to another is reportedly the leading cause of unfinished malaria dose data in children in Gulu district.

Speaking to favor FM, William Onyai, the Gulu district health educator notes that mothers normally start the malaria dose from one facility but in the long run before receiving the second or third dose they move to other places where they now finish their children’s dose, leaving data of unfinished immunization cycle at the facility where they began receiving the doze from.

Onyai says, some mothers even after migrating to other places do not care about taking their children to finish the dose they begun before they traveled, he adds that such mother’s are not serious because malaria still remains dangerous and leading cause of death in children.

According to Onyai, out of 100 mothers’ who start their children on malaria dose, only 15 endeavor to finish the 3 doses.

Onyai advises mother’s to make their children’s health a priority that even after migrating to other areas they should endeavor their children complete the doses.
