Newly Sworn-In Omoro Leaders Asked to Prioritize Equity in Resource Allocation

Ambassador Dr. Olara Otunu, the co-chair Roco Paco initiative and former UN undersecretary has urged the newly sworn in leadership of Omoro district local government to be inclusive in distribution of resources in the district.

Otunu who was the chief guest at the swearing in of council members held yesterday at Omoro Town Council asked the council members to ensure that no part of the population feels left out in resource distribution.

He reveals that Roco Paco initiative intends to see that Omoro district becomes a model district in tackling poverty in Acholi Sub region.

Otunu accordingly urges the local community there to embrace growing perennial crops such as coffee and cocoa besides bananas and avocados to be able to boost their financial capacity to educate their children.

Roco-Paco is an initiative founded by Otunu and Chief Justice Emritus Alphonse Owiny Dollo with a focus on social and economic development in the Acholi sub-region.

The initiative emphasis education and cultural preservation.
