Amuru district has received 3,675 kilograms of groundnut seeds and 6,804 kilograms of rice from the Operation Wealth Creation (OWC).
Geoffrey Osborn Oceng, the Amuru Resident District Commissioner says the seeds which were received yesterday will be distributed to only registered farmers in the sub counties of Lakang, Amuru Sub County and Amuru Town Council.
Oceng says the support follows a memorandum of understanding the district signed with General Salim Saleh, the Chief Coordinator of the OWC to supply the district with seeds for the next five years.
The district also recently received over 110,000 kilograms of maize from OWC.
The RDC urges farmers to utilize the current rains for planting the seeds as opposed to consuming them.
