
Police in Amolatar district have urged authorities at Churches, entertainment centres to provide adequate security arrangements to safeguard the property of their congregants and patrons.
This follows a rise in cases of theft of motorcycles and bicycles in Amolatar Town Council and its surrounding areas.
Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Kyoga police spokesperson says that police have been conducting intelligence led operations to apprehend the thieves.
Okema says two motorcycles registration Number UFM 255Z, and a numberless Bajaj Boxer, red in colour, with its registration plate removed were recovered during a security operation between 10:00pm on May 29, 2026 and 04:00am on May 30, 2026.
He said in a statement that one suspect, Ambrose Edii , a resident of Odyak Village, Muntu Sub-county in Amolatar District was arrested and is helping police with the investigations.
