The Diocese of Ma’di West Nile has launched a fundraising campaign to raise more than Shs600 million required to complete its multi-billion-shilling diocesan office complex.
The four-storey Golden Jubilee Office Block is an initiative of Rt. Rev. Charles Collins Andaku and forms part of his legacy projects as Bishop of the Diocese of Ma’di West Nile.
The project was launched in 2019 during the diocese’s Golden Jubilee celebrations marking 50 years of its existence.
Bishop Andaku was enthroned in February 2017, succeeding the retired Rt. Rev. Joel Obetia.
In a statement issued ahead of his ninth Episcopal anniversary and a grand fundraising event yesterday at Mvara Cathedral, Bishop Andaku appealed to the faithful and other well-wishers within and outside the diocese to support efforts to complete and commission the office block.
According to Bishop Andaku, his nine years of shepherding the diocese have been largely successful despite various challenges, with most of the plans he set out to implement now accomplished.
Meanwhile, the Diocesan Secretary of Ma’di West Nile, Godfrey Nasa, who has also served in the position for the last nine years, says that once completed, the Golden Jubilee Office Complex will not only house diocesan offices but will also serve as a business centre to generate income for the diocese.
