Rubirizi District Security Committee has agreed to suspend, Richard Munori, the Secretary of the District Service Commission over allegations of corruption and alleged manipulation of recruitment lists.
The resolution was reached during a security committee and stakeholders’ meeting held at the district headquarters on Monday.
Richard Munori is accused of adding names to the approved shortlist and conducting the aptitude test for district jobs.
Ahmed Kinene, the Resident District Commissioner, says he has tasked the police to carry out investigations into the accusations and present their findings within two weeks.
Paul Samuel Mbiiwa, the Chief Administrative Officer, says he has received many complaints from the public about the recruitment process.
Munori welcomed the investigations, saying that he will be cleared of any wrongdoing.
He denies having solicited money or altered recruitment lists in exchange for jobs.
