A 50-year-old woman from Tetugu Village in Ongako Sub-County Omoro District has died instantly after falling off a motorcycle.
It is alleged that the incident happened yesterday at around 7:15pm from Kweyo Village opposite Kweyo Shoppers along Anaka-Nwoya road when Adoch Franca fell off the motorcycle.
According to the reporter, Ayera George, who happened to be the traffic Officer of Gulu West Division, the motorcycle with reg.no UFC 046A Bajaj boxer red in color was being ridden by 24 year old Derrick Okello.
Ayera says that Okello was from Kochgoma heading to Gulu City when he got Adoch the deceased footing on the way then she requested for a lift which was offered to her.
After reaching Kweyo Shoppers, she fell from the motorcycle and hit her head hard on the ground and died.
David Ongom Mudong the Police Spokesperson for Aswa West Division confirms the incident and said the Police visited the scene, a rough sketch plan drawn and the deceased was taken to Gulu Regional Referral Hospital pending postmortem.
Ongom adds that the motorcycle was taken to Gulu West Division pending inspection and the suspect being held in custody to aid in investigation.
According to Police Annual Crime Report 2025-2026, a total of 322,441 cases of accidents in 2025 compared to 426,432 cases in 2024.
