Gulu District NRM officials have today flagged off 166 LC1 flag bearers who will contest in the upcoming LC1 elections in the various villages.
Christopher Ocen, the NRM Chairperson for Gulu district urges the LC1 flag bearers to mobilize voters in the villages to go and vote.
Ocen adds that they expect to win all the LC1 positions in the district because of the support that the party has from local community.
The meeting which was convened at NRM Offices in Awach Town Council was also graced by DEC members, Councilor Vs, Sub County Chairpersons under the NRM, and historical leaders, among other distinguished guests.
Ocen also re-echoes the importance of protecting the gains achieved under the NRM, while emphasizing a clear vision for wealth creation.
According to a circular released by the Electoral Commission, the election of LC1 Chairpersons will be conducted on the 28 of this month in all the 71,214 villages of Uganda.
The election will be conducted through lining up behind candidates, their agents, or portraits in accordance with election law.
