Gulu Main Market Set for Free Public Internet

Gulu Main Market is set to receive free public internet courtesy of the National Information Technology Authority – NITA-Uganda.

NITA-Uganda unveiled the plan yesterday to install free public WiFi at Gulu Main Market to enhance digital access for vendors.

Alex Opira, the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer with NITA-Uganda says this is being done under the Uganda Digital Acceleration Program (UDAP)

He says the internet will help market women to do online marketing, advertise and research about products.

Opira says their regional office in Gulu City is at 60% completion, and once commissioned, installation of public WiFi at Gulu Main Market will take precedence.

He adds that more public spots are being identified within the two divisions of Gulu City for installation of the same.
